Microsoft PowerPoint is one of the most commonly used pieces of software on Earth, and it has become the de facto standard for presenting ideas. Yet its numerous flaws eventually led me to build a presentation editor named Twig.

A common quirk among other presentation editors is that they distort your presentation when you move it across devices. I personally encountered multiple instances in which my carefully crafted presentation became misaligned and ugly when I opened it on the classroom computer. This is annoying, impossible to predict, and undermines your credibility. Such distortion happens because a PowerPoint presentation only stores a vague description of what your presentation looks like, and each machine interprets it a bit differently. I built Twig to sidestep this problem by creating a new presentation format that describes your presentations with no ambiguity. The format everyone else uses takes over 5000 pages to describe, while Twig's takes 939 lines. By using Twig, you can be confident that your presentation will look the same wherever you go.

Twig also removes the hassle of remembering to save your work. It automatically records every tiny change the moment you make it so you never have to worry about losing your work to a computer crash. Even if the file has never been saved before, it is still stored on disk, meaning it can still be recovered even in the most extreme circumstances. With Twig, you can rest easy knowing your work is truly safe.
